Dangerous driving

Dangerous driving occurs when a person’s standard of driving falls far below what would be expected of a competent and careful driver. Dangerous driving can also include driving a defective vehicle. The reason for the driver's behaviour is not relevant. It is the acts of the driver or the driver’s conduct which determine whether the driver has fallen 'below' the standard of a careful and competant driver. Injuries caused by someone driving dangerously can be from minor to severe. Minor personal injuries include: Cuts, bruises, swelling and soft tissue damage, broken or fractured bones and shock. More severe injuries can include: brain and head trauma, back and spinal injuries and the amputation of limbs. If you have suffered a personal injury in a car accident caused by someone driving dangerously, you may be entitled to claim compensation.
